Petit Trianon - Program 4

Sleeping Beauty's Cousins or the Re-discovery of a Musical Heritage
Our view of chamber music in the second half of the 18th century is marked by works by Bach's sons and the grand "trias" of the classic style: Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. This programme with works by largely unknown composers, or with unknown works by composers who are only known by name, does not want to question the significance of the above named composers in any way. It intends, however, to complete the image of musical life during this time by introducing composers who were seen of equal rank during their lifetime.

Works by Abel, Filtz, Hoffmeister, Devienne, Liebmann, Danzi, Benda
